Message types are categories that classify Ad Hoc Alerts to help people understand the significance of an Ad Hoc Alert they receive. When you select a message type, the type is added to the front of the Ad Hoc Alert subject. For example, an Ad Hoc Alert titled Facility Security Breach sent as an Alert will appear as: Alert: Facility Security Breach.
The following message types are available.
-
Alert: An alert conveys the highest level of importance. It provides vital, time-sensitive information for a specific incident or situation and warrants immediate attention.
-
Code: A code provides information about a situation using standardized symbols or signals.
-
Update: An update provides more information about a situation already communicated.
-
Advisory: An advisory may not require immediate action, but still provides important information about an incident or situation and may contain recommendations.
-
Information Service: An information service offers general health guidelines that are not emergent in nature.
-
Call-down Drill: A drill provides realistic-like information that is only sent regarding an exercise or simulated response.
-
Test: A test is a preview of an Ad Hoc Alert that is generally sent prior to the actual Ad Hoc Alert.
