Add Dashboard View Components
Dashboard components are the UI elements that you add to a dashboard. In DesignStudio Pro, components appear in Design mode.
When you create a Dashboard view, the 12 x 12 canvas appears with a 3 x 3 grid overlay that provides the following features:
-
Components snap to the grid.
-
The grid allows you to visually estimate the size and space between components.
-
When you insert a component, you can preview how the dashboard will render. For example, if you size a component too small, you will see that text or parts of the component become distorted. You can resize the component for a better visual representation.
-
Components can be resized on the canvas (click the component and drag the handles), or in the associated settings window.
-
Components can be moved by dragging them to another position.
For information about available components, their settings, and their toolbars, see Dashboard View Components List.
To add components to a dashboard
This procedure assumes that you have already created the Dashboard view.
-
In the Board Workspace, on the upper right, use Search for View to find your Dashboard view, or select the view from the list.
-
Drag the components onto the canvas. You can have up to four components side-by-side.
-
In the settings window that appears, enter the setting information, and then click Done. For details about the settings, see Dashboard Components List.
If you need to return to this window, click the component on the canvas, and then click the settings icon on the top right of the component.
-
Repeat steps 2 and 3 to add additional components until your Dashboard view is complete.
-
Above the canvas, click Save
