View Child Data with the Child Table Component Classic Styling

To view child records, add a child table to a parent Details view.

The Input view that the Details view is based on must already have at least one Child Input view before this table can be configured. See Create a Child Input View for details.

The Child Table component is supported in the Details view.

To add a child Details view table

  1. In the board's Design mode, on the Explorer, click the Details view you want to use as the parent.

  2. On the Components tray, under Display Data, drag and drop the Child Table component onto the canvas.

  3. On the Properties tab, under Settings, enter the following information:

    As you make updates in Settings, your component updates in real time.

  4. Under Header, enter the following information:

    Field Description Procedure
    Child Input View Name The name of the Child Input view.

    Select a Child Input view that is associated with the parent Input view.

    If only one Child Input view exists for the parent, the field is automatically populated.

    Child Details View Name The name of the child Details view.

    Select a child Details view that is associated with the parent Input view.

    If only one child Details view exists for the parent, the field is automatically populated.

    Child Delete View Name

    The name of the child Delete view.

    Select a child Delete view that is associated with the parent input view.

    If only one child Delete view exists for the parent, the field is automatically populated.

    Field List The fields that are available in the child table. Drag the fields that you want to appear in the child table.
    Selected Fields The fields that are in the child table Details view.
    • To remove a field, click the delete icon.

    • To move a field up or down in the list, drag the move icon move icon. , preceding the field, up or down.

    • To show or hide the field on a mobile device, switch the toggle on or off.

  5. Under Header, enter the following information.

    Field Description Procedure
    Table Title The title that appears at the top of the child table. Between 2 - 50 alphanumeric characters, excluding special characters.
    Title for Create Child Record button The label that appears on a button to create a new child record.

    Between 2 - 50 alphanumeric characters, excluding special characters.

    If you do not specify a value, a button is not created.

  6. Under Permissions, enter the following information.

    • Permission names use the name you entered in the Table Title field under Header. Each field (below) begins with the permission type (Create, Update, or Delete) and appends the Table Title (for example, if the Table Title is Address Comment, the Create Child Record Permission Name becomes Create Address Comment).

    • If you delete the values, no permissions are created and any user can create, update, and delete child records.

    • These checkboxes appear in WebEOC on the Board Permission Tags tab when you add a board. For more information, see About Feature Groups in the WebEOC Admin Help Center.

    Create Child Record Permission Name Allows a user to create child records.

    Accept the default value or modify the label that appears next to the checkbox in WebEOC.

    For example, if you have a comments field, you might customize this field to be Add Comment.

    Update Child Record Permission Name Allows a user to update child records.

    Accept the default value or modify the label that appears next to the checkbox in WebEOC.

    For example, if you have a comments field, you might customize this field to be Edit Comment.

    Delete Child Record Permission Name Allows a user to delete child records.

    Accept the default value or modify the label that appears next to the checkbox in WebEOC.

    For example, if you have a comments field, you might customize this field to be Delete Comment.

  7. Click Save in the top right above the canvas.

Actions Toolbar

The following actions are available when you select any component on the canvas in the Board Workspace when working with Nexus Component Styling.

Settings

Opens the Properties tab next to the Components Tray.

You can modify the component’s settings, such as label, database field name, help text, style, and conditional settings.

  1. In Design mode, click the component on the canvas. A toolbar appears on the top right.

  2. Click the Settings icon. The Properties tab displays on the right next to the Components tray.

  3. Update the settings as needed.

    Changes display in real time.

Move Icon

Move

 

This icon is not used.

To move the component, click and drag it to its new location.

Copy Icon

Clone

Copies the current component and its settings, then pastes it after the current component.

  1. In Design mode, click the component on the canvas. A toolbar appears on the top right.

  2. Click the Clone icon. The Properties tab displays on the right next to the Components tray.

  3. Edit the settings for the cloned component.

    Changes display in real time.

Delete Icon

Delete

Deletes the selected component.

  1. In Design mode, click the component on the canvas. A toolbar appears on the top right.

  2. Click the Delete icon.
