Catchment Regions

A catchment region defines settings related to automatic status changes, such as which statuses you want to change, what triggers the change, and the duration of the change.

To trigger the status change, the statuses must meet an activation threshold. Consider an example where you have an ICU Availability status type with Open, Divert, Full, and Forced Open statuses. You can configure a catchment region to change all Divert statuses to Forced Open whenever 75% of the ICU Availability statuses in the catchment area are Divert or Full. When the activation threshold is met, affected statuses automatically change to another status. This status cannot be changed during the specified duration. After this period, affected statuses automatically change again to another status.

If you have the Catchment Areas premium feature and the appropriate permissions, you can access the Catchment Regions page in the main menu under Setup. This page displays a table with information about your catchment regions, including the following columns.
