What You'll Accomplish

By the end of this guide, you'll have a Healthcare Emergency Operations Center configured with the essential boards needed to support healthcare incident management and emergency operations.

Introduction

The Healthcare Solution Set includes a collection of standard boards designed specifically for healthcare organizations. These boards support common emergency management workflows such as incident management, facility status reporting, resource requests, and event reporting. This guide walks you through deploying and configuring the solution for your organization.

Follow these steps

1. Review the Healthcare Solution Set

Review the Healthcare Solution Set overview.

Become familiar with the purpose of each board before deployment.

2. Download and Import the Healthcare Boards

  1. Download the Healthcare Boards set.

  2. Import the boards.

3. Set up the boards.

See Set Up the Healthcare Board Set for details.

Configure these boards:

  • Incident Creator (HC): Provides the starting point for managing healthcare incidents.

  • Facility Status (HC): Captures operational information for hospitals and healthcare facilities. Modify fields or layouts if required for your organization.

  • Requests Tasks (HC): Used to manage resource requests during an incident. Review workflows and assign permissions for the appropriate operational groups.

  • Event Reporting (HC): Collects and manages operational events occurring during an incident. Review any organization-specific customization requirements.

  • Other boards in the solution set, if needed.

7. Review Permissions

After all boards have been configured, review assigned feature groups to ensure the appropriate users have access. See Plan and Create a Feature Group.

8. Test the Healthcare Workflow

  1. Verify that users can:

    • Create an incident

    • Report facility status

    • Submit requests

    • Record operational events

  2. Confirm that permissions function as expected for each user role.
