Alert Component Nexus Component Styling

This component is not available as a Classic Styling component and can only be used if you select the Use Nexus Component Styling checkbox when creating a view.

Alert icon

Use the Alert component to add an alert message to a field if a user enters data that does not follow a required format. For example, you can add an Alert stating that a field cannot be left empty.

The Alert component is supported in the Input view and Details View and is found in the Formatting section of the Components tray.

Settings

The following settings are available.

Header

Text that displays in bold on the alert message.

Enter the part of the alert message that should display in bold.

Text

Text that displays in the alert message.

Enter the alert’s text.

Dismissible

A setting that allows the user to close the alert and ignore it, leaving the data in the field as-is.

  • Toggle to on to allow the user to dismiss the alert.

  • Toggle to off to prevent the user from dismissing the alert until the error that raised the alert is fixed.

Style

The following style option is available.

Alert Type

Option that sets the text and background colors of the alert message.

Select one of these options:

  • Information: This default setting displays the alert text in blue on a blue background.

  • Success: Displays the alert text in green on a green background.

  • Warning: Displays the alert text in red on a yellow background.

  • Danger: Displays the alert text in red on a red background

  • Secondary: Displays the alert text in black on a grey background

The component only appears when certain conditions in relation to another component are met.

Actions Toolbar

The following actions are available when you select any component on the canvas in the Board Workspace when working with Nexus Component Styling.

Settings

Opens the Properties tab next to the Components Tray.

You can modify the component’s settings, such as label, database field name, help text, style, and conditional settings.

  1. In Design mode, click the component on the canvas. A toolbar appears on the top right.

  2. Click the Settings icon. The Properties tab displays on the right next to the Components tray.

  3. Update the settings as needed.

    Changes display in real time.

Move Icon

Move

 

This icon is not used.

To move the component, click and drag it to its new location.

Copy Icon

Clone

Copies the current component and its settings, then pastes it after the current component.

  1. In Design mode, click the component on the canvas. A toolbar appears on the top right.

  2. Click the Clone icon. The Properties tab displays on the right next to the Components tray.

  3. Edit the settings for the cloned component.

    Changes display in real time.

Delete Icon

Delete

Deletes the selected component.

  1. In Design mode, click the component on the canvas. A toolbar appears on the top right.

  2. Click the Delete icon.
