Chip Component Nexus Component Styling

This component is not available as a Classic Styling component and can only be used if you select the Use Nexus Component Styling checkbox when creating a view.

Chip icon

Use the Chip component to add a visual indicator of a status.

The Chip component is supported in the Input and Details view and is found in the Formatting section of the Components tray.

Settings

The following settings are available.

Text

Text that displays on the chip.

Enter the chip’s text.

Show Close Button

A setting that allows the user to close the chip by clicking an X.

  • Toggle to on to allow the user to close the chip.

  • Toggle to off if the close icon should not display and the chip should display at all times.

Style

The following style options are available.

Chip Color

Option that sets the chip’s text and background colors.

Select one of these options:

  • Success: Displays the chip with green text on a green background.

  • Warning: Displays the chip with red text on a yellow background.

  • Danger: Displays the chip with red text on a red background

  • Primary: Displays the chip with black text on a grey background

  • Neutral: Displays the chip with grey text on a grey background

  • Light

  • Dark

Icon

Displays an icon next to the chip.

Click an icon to select it.

To locate icons, you can either search or browse icons by selecting a type from the Type drop-down.

Conditional

The following Conditional settings are available.

The component only appears when certain conditions in relation to another component are met.

Actions Toolbar

The following actions are available when you select any component on the canvas in the Board Workspace when working with Nexus Component Styling.

Settings Icon

Settings

Opens the Properties tab next to the Components Tray.

You can modify the component’s settings, such as label, database field name, help text, style, and conditional settings.

  1. In Design mode, click the component on the canvas. A toolbar appears on the top right.

  2. Click the Settings icon. The Properties tab displays on the right next to the Components tray.

  3. Update the settings as needed.

    Changes display in real time.

Move Icon

Move

 

This icon is not used.

To move the component, click and drag it to its new location.

Copy Icon

Clone

Copies the current component and its settings, then pastes it after the current component.

  1. In Design mode, click the component on the canvas. A toolbar appears on the top right.

  2. Click the Clone icon. The Properties tab displays on the right next to the Components tray.

  3. Edit the settings for the cloned component.

    Changes display in real time.

Delete Icon

Delete

Deletes the selected component.

  1. In Design mode, click the component on the canvas. A toolbar appears on the top right.

  2. Click the Delete icon.
