Configure Process Permissions for Resource Requests

This section includes example steps to implement a basic resource request workflow involving multiple jurisdictions in WebEOC Nexus using organizational groups A cluster of positions that, with process permissions, defines the structure for process flow. and process permissions A setting that grants an organizational group access to a process flow's views..

The example steps use resource requests among multiple fictional cities and a county.

Implementing process permissions involves these steps:

  1. Create organizational groups

  2. Create process permissions

  3. Assign a process permission to an organizational group

  4. Apply the process permission to a board through a filter and/or dropdown menu

Scope and Assumptions

This example assumes:

  • All jurisdictions are using a single instance of WebEOC Nexus.

  • The use of the Requests, Inventory, Deployment (RID) board.

  • This example is based on fictional jurisdictions, the county of Sebastian and the cities of Orangevale and Rockland.

  • The WebEOC Nexus instance already has appropriately named positions. See Create a Position for details. In this example, we will use these positions, which follow the naming convention Jurisdiction – Section – Position:

    • Sebastian – LOG – Logistics Section Chief

    • Sebastian – OPS – Operations

    • Orangevale – LOG – Logistics Section Chief

    • Orangevale – OPS – Operations

    • Rockland – LOG – Logistics Section Chief

    • Rockland – OPS – Operations

At the end of this example, the following routing will be implemented:

  • Users in the cities of Orangevale and Rockland will be able to route requests to any position in their own city.

  • City users in Oragnevale and Rockland assigned to the position of Logistics Section Chief will be able to route requests to any position in their own city OR to the county’s Logistics Section Chief.

  • County users in Sebastian can route resource requests to any position in the countyr.

  • County users in Sebastian assigned to the position of Logistics Section Chief can route requests to any position in the county OR to any Logistics Section Chief at the cities.

In WebEOC Nexus parlance, the Logistics Section Chiefs will serve as Controllers.

Begin by importing a board and adding groups.
