Move Reports From Test to Production

In most cases, you will be building your reports in a development or lab environment and, once tested, they will be moved to production. This section provides guidelines for managing report configurations across multiple Juvare Analyze environments.

You can export and import source definitions, visual definitions, and dashboard definitions.

When exporting, be aware that special characters are not supported. If your visual name or the name of the data source contains special characters, you must update the name before exporting.

Sources

You can import or export one or more sources, including related connection information, in JSON format. When you import visuals or dashboards, their sources are also imported; this process allows you to import only sources and related connections.

Visuals

You can import visuals from the visual gallery. See Import Visual Gallery Visuals.

You can export visuals. See Export Visuals.

Dashboards

Exported dashboards enable you to share your data with others or in the case of the JSON configuration export, to transfer a dashboard to another Juvare Analyze environment.

Dashboards can be exported in the following formats:

• PNG Screenshot (as an image)

• PDF file (as an image)

• JSON configuration (for the whole dashboard). When you select this format, dashboard interactivity profile settings are also exported with the other dashboard settings. This ensures that the exported dashboard can be imported with the same interactivity profile.
