Set Up the Sign In/Out DS Board Standard Icon

  • You must import the DesignStudio (DS) version of this board as a new board instead of overwriting the non-DS version.

  • Modifying field names or making changes to the DS code views could have unintended effects.

  • The DS version of this board has some slight design differences, and does not include some of the advanced features available in the Standard board such as:

    • Geocoding user location when signing in

    • Time Worked field on the History list (this field is available on the Details view)

    • Filtering by time frame

To ensure that the board customizations work as expected:

  1. Set up the board in Unified Command Platform.

  2. Set up the board in DesignStudio.

To set up the Sign In/Out DS Board in Unified Command Platform

  1. Import the board.

  2. Create a feature group and assign the board to the feature group for user access.

  3. When adding or editing the board for a feature group, use the following table to guide your entries and selections.

    Default Label The name for this board as you want it to appear in the menu. Any combination of up to 200 alphanumeric characters, excluding special characters.
    Input

    The view, which allows you to add records to the board, that you want to assign to the feature group.

    Input views are mainly assigned using board permissions and this field is left as None.

    		 None.
    Display The view, which appears when a board is opened, that you want to assign to the feature group.

    Select:

    • List - Currently Signed In: Shows all users who are currently signed in.

    • List - History: Shows all users who have signed out.
    Device Type Indicates the type of device on which the board is primarily intended for display.

    Select one of the following options:

    • Desktop

    • Mobile

    • Desktop and Mobile
    View Filters Determines what data is visible on the board. Unlike the filter/search feature that can be added to a board, which helps you find data, the view filters limit the visibility of the data.

    No need to add or adjust these.
    Board Permissions Tags Identifies what actions users are able to perform on the board.

    Select one or more of the following options:

    • Management: Allows the user to sign out any user currently signed in.

    • History Edit: Allows the user to edit records on the History tab.

    • Sign In Desk: Allows the user to sign in multiple users to track their hours worked.

    • Remove Entry: Allows the user to remove sign in records from the list view.

      Records are not deleted. They are hidden from views using filters.

  4. Click Save.

To set up the Sign In/Out DS Board in DesignStudio

  1. Create a new board in DesignStudio.

  2. Name the board and select your Publish Profile.

  3. To import the board, select Import From Unified Command Platform.

  4. Select your connection and Unified Command Platform board name.

  5. Customize the board as needed.

  6. Add your publish profile to the board under Board Details.

  7. Publish the board into your Unified Command Platform instance.
