Build a Board Workflow

A board is used to capture and display operational data in WebEOC.

A publish profile must exist before you can create a board. See Add Board Publish Profiles.

Step 1: Create the Board using the Board Wizard

In the Board Gallery, select + Create Board.

  1. Configure:

    1. A unique Name.

    2. Enter tags, optionally.

    3. Select the Publish Profile, which controls how the board is deployed.

    4. Enter a Description, the purpose of the board.

  2. Set up the view.

    1. Choose Empty Board.

    2. Define:

      1. The Input View Name, which is the name of the board's data entry view.

      2. The Table Name where the data structure is stored.

    3. To use the Nexus Component Styling for components, select the Use Nexus Component Styling checkbox. To use components from DesignStudio 2.5 and earlier, also called Classic Styling, leave the checkbox unselected.

  3. Click Submit to open the Board Workspace in Design Mode.

Step 2: Work in the Board Workspace

Design Mode contains:

  • The Canvas where you design the board's interface.

  • The Components tray where you select components to drag onto the canvas.

  • Explorer, where you manage views, tables, and resources.

Step 3 Build the Input View for Data Entry

  1. To build the Input view, drag components (text input fields, drop-downs, etc.) onto the canvas.

  2. Arrange layout using sections and tabs.

  3. Configure:

    1. Field labels

    2. Data types

    3. Required fields

    4. Other settings as needed

Step 4: Create Additional Views

  • List View, which displays all records in a table format.

  • Details View, which shows a single record.

  • Delete View, which shows the delete message if users attempt to delete a record(optional).

    At a minimum, most boards will require at least an Input View and List View.

Step 5: Configure the Board

In Configure mode, you can:

  • Set filters (what users see).

  • Control permissions or visibility.

  • Lock views by position.

  • Optimize for mobile/tablet.

Step 6: Preview & Test

  1. Use Preview mode to test:

    1. Desktop

    2. Tablet

    3. Mobile

  2. Validate:

    1. Data entry works.

    2. Views display correctly.

    3. Layout is usable.

Step 7: Publish the Board

Publish to WebEOC.
