Import a Board

If you import a board into DesignStudio that was not initially built in DesignStudio, the drag and drop features in the Components tray will not work as expected. In this case, you must update the board using Code mode.

When you import a board, you choose from two import options:

  • Import from WebEOC gives you access to all boards available through the selected connection. Connections are established by administrators through Settings > Board Settings. For information about connections, see Add Publish Profiles in Boards.

  • Import from File allows you to upload a board in .web (WebEOC-generated board) or .json (DesignStudio-generated board) format.

To import a board

  1. In the Board Gallery, click + Create Board to open the Board Wizard. The Board Details page opens.

You can also create a new board in the Board Workspace. Click Board > New Board.

  2. Enter the following information, and then click Next.

    1. Name: The name for the board. Board names must be unique.

    2. Tags: Any tags you want to associate with the board.

    3. Publish Profile: The predefined publishing workflow for your organization. To learn more about publish profiles, see Publish Profiles and Add Publish Profiles in Boards.

    4. Description: A description of the board's purpose or function.

  3. On the View Generation page, select one of the import options.

    • Import from WebEOC: After you select this option, select a publish profile, and then select a board.

    • Import from File: Drag a .web or .json file onto the area indicated in gray.

  4. Click Submit. DesignStudio clones and imports the board.
