Request Background Checks

As a client admin, you can request background checks for volunteers and other roles from the following locations:

  • The Accounts page.

  • The Screenings Dashboard page.

You can also access the request background check function from anywhere the account slideout appears, such as clicking on a member account in the Members pages for groups and organizations.

Background Check Statuses

Client admins can view background check statuses at any time on the Screenings Dashboard page. Depending on the configuration of your solution, background checks can be manual or automatic (either standard or super search). For more information on what these different background check types cover, refer to Screenings Dashboard.

The following are the different background check statuses for manual and automatic checks.

Not Verified

Did Not Consent

The user did not consent to a background check, resulting in a "not verified" status.

Contact the user or consent to the background check on their behalf before running the check again.

Unknown (manual)

The background check has not yet been manually run for this user.

Manual

Form Incomplete

The user did not complete the required fields in their profile, resulting in an incomplete form used for the background check.

Notify the user that the required fields must be completed before running the check again.

Ready

Ready to Submit

The check is ready for submission.

Processing

Processing: Submitted

The check has been submitted and is currently processing, but has not yet rendered a decision.

The check has been submitted and is currently being manually researched.

Complete: Clear

The check is complete and has been set as clear, either automatically or manually by an admin.

Failed

Complete: Denied

The check is complete and has been manually set as denied by an admin.

Processing: Needs Attention

The check is processing but requires additional information or follow-up from an admin before it can be completed.

Error: Required Fields and missing or invalid

The check resulted in errors due to missing or invalid information for required fields.

Review and Take Action: Possible Matches Found

The check completed but requires admin review due to potential matches found that need to be manually verified.

Review and Take Action: Invalid SSN

The check completed but required admin review due to an invalid social security number. Follow up with the user to obtain the correct social security number, then attempt the check again.
