Situation Report User Guide
Use the Situation Report board to effectively gather and consolidate reports from various entities during emergencies. This board is crucial for producing comprehensive reports, typically issued every 24 hours, to provide timely crisis updates.
With WebEOC Nexus, you can accommodate any organizational structure, including the Incident Command System and Emergency Support Functions. By updating functional areas on the Situation Report board, you contribute to a master report, the Master Sit Rep, which undergoes online review and approval before official release. This ensures accuracy and alignment with response objectives.
Key features of the Situation Report board include:
-
Creation and management of events, including training and test exercises, which enhance stakeholder awareness and preparedness.
-
Streamlined Sit Rep review and publication process by organizing the compilation of information from multiple sources.
-
Efficient distribution of approved reports by directly emailing them to selected stakeholders for timely dissemination.
There are two types of users of the Situation Report.
-
Controllers who:
-
Contributors who:
-
Provide a status report for their section of the Situation Report.
-
Can be assigned approval permissions over other contributors’ sections. For example, a section chief may be given approval permission over the contributors in their section or those related to their section. This permission is assigned by the controller when creating or editing contributor records.
-
There are two versions of this board.
-
The controller sets up the Working version, and the contributors complete each section. Once complete, the controller reviews the Working version, approves it, and publishes it.
-
The Published version shows a list of reports the controller has reviewed and approved, providing a comprehensive up-to-date status for incidents.
Before using the board, you must set it up. See Set Up the Situation Report Board for details. To notify contributors when their section of the Situation Report must be completed, you must also create a board notification. See Configure Board Notifications for details.
