Requests, Inventory, and Deployments User Guide
Overview
The Requests, Inventory, and Deployments (RID) board offers the features and tools to manage, deploy, and maintain your inventory. This solution is part of the premium board set and can be used in the Unified Command Platform desktop or mobile app.
The RID board allows you to catalog, request, deploy, and track resources in compliance with the National Incident Management System (NIMS). It is comprised of three main components that organize and facilitate the management of your incident collateral. These components allow you to view and manage requests, inventory, and deployments and track costs, statuses, and locations.
Each component also contains a report view allowing you to search, filter, and export the results.
Key Features
-
Simplified inventory management: View, add, edit, delete, and map inventory records in a centralized location.
-
Comprehensive resource tracking: Deploy, track, and return resources with status updates available for team members.
-
Barcoding: Unique barcodes are automatically generated for all inventory items, enabling barcode scanning through the Unified Command Platform Mobile App.
-
Reporting capabilities: Export data from any RID component (Requests, Inventory, or Deployments) in formatted PDF or Excel reports.
-
Dynamic resource categorization: Define resources as assets or consumables, and categorize them using editable categories (for example, Equipment, IT, Transportation) with custom fields per category.
-
Maintenance and expiration tracking: Schedule and log maintenance events and track expiration dates for inventory assets.
-
Location management: Easily import, edit, and manage inventory and deployment locations through structured templates.
-
Request cloning and drafting: Create and clone requests to streamline repetitive or future-planned actions.
-
Dashboard visualization: The Dashboard tab provides full-screen visualizations, real-time cost tracking, and overdue request monitoring for enhanced situational awareness.
-
Dark mode support: A dark mode theme provides improved visibility in low-light environments. In Unified Command Platform 10.12.2 and earlier, dark mode must be enabled for your instance before you can turn it on.
-
Funding source management: Track budgets, grants, and other funding sources tied to specific inventory items.
-
Crisis Track integration: Leverage the Work Category, Sourcing, and Date Purchased fields for FEMA reimbursement and audit reporting.
-
Mobile warehouse operations: Use the Unified Command Platform Mobile App to scan, deploy, and receive inventory in the field via barcode recognition.
This board extensively uses process permissions to filter and assign records. See Process Permissions and Requests, Inventory, and Deployments (RID) Process Permissions for details.
